This week Year 10 have been on Work Experience developing their work related skills in a variety of different placements. Sarah Bonnell would like to thank our business partners for hosting Year 10 and would like to congratulate the girls for making such a great impression on employers. The feedback we have had has been brilliant.
On Wednesday we had our last Enhanced Learning Day of the academic year. Year 7 took part in a visit to the Olympic Park and went down the longest tunnel slide in the world, the Arcellor Mittal Orbit. Year 8 got involved in a theatre workshops about preparing for employment. Year 9 visited the Natural History Museum, Richmond Park and the Museum of London. Mr Archer, Assistant Headteacher, organised the day and was really pleased to ‘see Year 7 and 9 students coming back from trips smiling and to see year 8 students so engaged with their future choices’. Thank you to all staff who made these trips and visits such a success.
Also on Wednesday our Year 7 Rounders team came fourth in the Borough Rounders event – this is a great achievement for such a young team and Ms Emmerson, Progress Leader said ‘ the team’s fielding was exceptional and with a bit more batting practice I know they will do even better next time’. Well done Year 7.
A reminder that next week we have our ‘Be Proud’ Day to celebrate the cultural diversity of our school community and stand together against all forms of hatred, racism and extremism. This is followed by Aim High Week which encourages the girls to be social entrepreneurs for our charity United World Schools. We are also looking forward to seeing Year 11 in their finest clothes for their Year 11 Prom – this special event will give the girls a chance to celebrate their time at Sarah Bonnell and say goodbye.
